What is the risk of malaria in Bhutan?
Malaria risk is present throughout the year, in the southern belt comprising of Chukha, Geyleg-phug, Samchi, Samdrup Jonkhar and Shemgang. This southern belt is along the border with India.

Whilst there is malaria present the risk is low and antimalarials should only be considered in travellers where malaria infections are likely to cause complications, these include:
those with long term medical conditions
the elderly
the immunocompromised
travellers without a spleen
long stay travellers
