What is the risk of malaria in Malaysia?

There is risk in Peninsula Malaysia deep forest areas (including Taman Negara National Park) where Atovaquone & Proguanil, Lariam & Doxycycline anti-malarials are the preferred choice. You will need to obtain a prescription from either ourselves or your doctor to purchase these medicines. 

All other areas including the Cameron Highlands, Kuala Lumpur and Penang are very low risk, adopt bite avoidance regime.

Antimalarials are advised in Malaysia if visiting any at risk areas. Please remember to also follow the bite avoidance measures below in all areas.
