What is Benadryl Allergy Children’s Solution?
Benadryl Allergy Solution is formulated specifically for children to relieve symptoms of allergies and has a pleasant banana flavour to make administering the medicine more pleasant for parent and child.
Containing an antihistamine that provides relief of allergy symptoms such as itchy, watery eyes, runny or blocked nose, sneezing and itchy skin reactions this medicine can help treat allergies like:
- Hay fever
- Dust Allergies
- Pet Allergies
- Skin Allergies
An oral cetirizine solution that is suitable for use in children over 2 years of age.
Benadryl Allergy Children's Solution is sugar and colour-free and tastes of banana!
How To Take Benadryl Allergy Children’s Solution:
For oral use only.
| Age | Dose |
| Under 2 Years | Not Recommended |
| 2-6 Years | One 2.5ml spoonful in the morning and one 2.5ml spoonful in the evening |
| 6-12 Years | One 5ml spoonful in the morning and one 5ml spoonful in the evening |
| 12+ Years | Two 5ml spoonfuls to be swallowed once a day |
Do not take more medicine than the patient information leaflet tells you.
If symptoms persist or worsen, stop use and consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Each 5ml spoon of Benadryl Allergy Children Solution contains Cetirizine dihydrochloride 5mg.
Who Should Not Use Benadryl Allergy Children’s Solution?
This medicine should not be used by the following groups of patients without first seeking medical advice from your GP or our Pharmacist:
- If you have a known allergy to Cetirizine, the antihistamine in Benadryl Allergy Children’s Solution
- Have serious kidney problems

What Side Effects Could I Expect?
Benadryl Children's Solution is generally well tolerated but the following side effects tend to be the most common:
- Headache or Dizziness
- Drowsiness
- Restlessness
- Dry Mouth, Sore Throat
- Upset Stomach
- Runny Nose
Drowsiness. It is generally accepted that Cetirizine, the antihistamine in this product is non-drowsy. However, whilst most individuals will not experience drowsiness it is possible that drowsiness could occur and around 1 in 10 patients may experience some drowsiness.

Driving and Using Machinery
This medicine may make you feel sleepy or dizzy, if affected please do not drive or operate machinery
