About

Some of the most common reasons as to why people use Emla Cream are:

  • Getting an injection
  • Donating blood
  • Minor skin operations
  • Having a cannula inserted
  • Having a tattoo

Can I use Emla Cream when getting a tattoo?

Some people do use Emla Cream before having a tattoo as this is a numbing agent and can help with the pain of a tattoo, however you should always tell your tattoo artist beforehand if you have used a numbing agent so they can make any adjustments they may need to make sure your tattoo is perfect.

How long does Emla Cream last?

Once you have applied Emla Cream your skin will remain numb for approximately 2 hours.
