Otex Ear Drops have been formulated to help remove the ear wax which will reduce the need for syringing.

What is earwax build up?

Earwax build up happens when your ear makes earwax faster than what your body can remove it.

A build-up of earwax can happen if:

  • You have narrow or damaged ear canals.
  • You have lots of hair in your ear canals.
  • You have a skin condition affecting your scalp or around your ear.
  • You have inflammation of your ear canal.

What are the symptoms of ear wax build up?

Symptoms of earwax build up include:

  • Hearing loss.
  • Earache or a feeling that your ears are blocked.
  • Ringing or buzzing in your ears.
  • Vertigo (feeling dizzy or sick).

Can Otex be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

Otex CAN be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

The ingredients have been in widespread use in this and similar preparations for many years, without reports of problems.

Who is it suitable for?

Otex Ear Drops are suitable for use by adults, children, and the elderly.

Directions for use

For adults, children and the elderly:

Tilt your head and gently squeeze up to 5 drops into the ear.

Keep your head tilted for a few minutes so that the drops stay in the ear.

Repeat this once or twice daily, normally for 3 to 4 days.

Who is it not suitable for?

Do not use Otex if:

  • You are allergic to any of the ingredients listed below.
  • If you have a history of ear problems.
  • If your ear drum is damaged.
  • If you suffer from dizziness.
  • If you have had your ears syringed in the last 2-3 days.

Contains

Urea Hydrogen Peroxide 5%, 8-Hydroxyquinoline and Glycerol.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Otex does have side effects however not everyone will experience them.

If you experience any of the following, stop using Otex and consult with your doctor.

  • A temporary mild bubbling sensation.
  • The ear drops can make the symptoms of excessive ear wax worse.

Keep out of sight and reach of children.

Only to be used in the ears.
