Otrivine Nasal Drops will give your child long lasting protection for up to 10 hours.

This nasal drop contains a decongestant to clear blocked and stuffy noses associated with head colds and hay fever.

How does Otrivine work?

Otrivine works by helping to open and clear the nasal passages by reducing the excessive secretions and returning the swollen blood vessels to their normal size.

Can Otrivine be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding it is advised you consult with your doctor before using this product.

Who is it suitable for?

Otrivine nasal drops are suitable for children aged 6-12 years of age who are suffering with congestion due to cold & flu or hay fever.

Direction for use

Used under adult supervision.

Children aged 6-12 years: 1 to 2 drops in each nostril once or twice daily.

No more than 2 doses should be given in 24 hours.

Who is it not suitable for?

Do not use Otrivine nasal drops if:

  • You are under the age of 6 years old.
  • Allergic to any of the ingredients listed below.
  • Has an inflamed nasal passage.
  • Has an enlarged prostate gland.

Contains

Xylometazoline Hydrochloride, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Phosphate, Sodium Acid Phosphate, Disodium Edetate, Benzalkonium Chloride, Sorbitol, Hypromellose and Water.

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Otrivine does have side effects. However, not everyone will experience these.

If you experience any of the following stop using the medicine and contact your doctor:

  • Headaches.
  • Dryness or irritation of the nasal mucosa.
  • Nausea.
  • Local burning sensation.

Warnings

Do not use on children under the age of 6.

Only use under adult supervision.

Do not exceed the recommended dose.
