Ordering

To order your prescriptions, you must order your medicines from your GP.  Most people do this by:

  • dropping in a repeat request form,
  • using a designated order line
  • using a GP surgery phone app.

We recommend something different, the NHS app.  This is the most convenient way to reorder medicines.

The NHS app is owned and run by the NHS and is simple and secure and it works with every surgery in the UK. It allows you to order repeat prescriptions, book appointments with your GP surgery, check your symptoms and view your medical record. It is available on iOS and Android and it is simple to register. Want to know more about the NHS app, we don't blame you as we think it is great!

Once you have ordered your repeat medicines, it will take between 48-72 hours (not including weekends) for the GP to send us your prescription via the secure NHS electronic system.

When we receive your prescription, we will process it and contact you via email or phone if there are queries.  If you usually pay for your NHS prescription one of our friendly team will be in touch so we can arrange secure payment over the phone.

Delivery

Your prescription will be dispensed and undergo multiple checks by trained professionals to ensure safety and accuracy. We will deliver all NHS repeat prescriptions free of charge. Once it has been dispatched to your chosen address then we will send you an email with tracking information.

If your medicines fit, then they will be delivered through your letterbox using Royal Mail Tracked 48 large letter service.  We aim to make all our parcels letterbox friendly, but sometimes it just isn't possible.

Larger parcels and controlled drugs will be sent via Royal Mail Tracked 48 as a parcel and may require a signature. Refrigerated medicines, like insulin, will be sent via special delivery and will need to be signed for.

How long will it take for me to receive my medicines?

From ordering your medicines with your GP to them arriving through your letterbox may take up to 7 working days, so please ensure you order your medicines in plenty of time and do not hesitate to contact us with any problems using the contact form button at the bottom of the page.
