Champix Maintenance 1mg tablets contain the active ingredient Varenicline, which is designed to help adults stop smoking.

These Champix Maintenance tablets are used in the second stage of a 12 week stop smoking course. Designed to block the action of nicotine to help stop cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Smoking cessation therapies are more likely to succeed for patients who are motivated to stop smoking and who are provided with additional advice and support.


The recommended dose is 1 mg varenicline twice daily following a 1-week titration as follows:

  • Days 1 – 3: 0.5 mg once daily
  • Days 4 – 7: 0.5 mg twice daily
  • Day 8 – End of treatment: 1 mg twice daily

The patient should set a date to stop smoking. CHAMPIX dosing should usually start at 1-2 weeks before this date. Patients who cannot tolerate adverse reactions of CHAMPIX may have the dose lowered temporarily or permanently to 0.5 mg twice daily. Patients should be treated with CHAMPIX for 12 weeks. For patients who have successfully stopped smoking at the end of 12 weeks, an additional course of 12 weeks treatment with CHAMPIX at 1mg twice daily may be considered.


You should not take Champix is you have Kidney disease, are pregnant or breast feeding or are allergic to varenicline or other ingredients in Champix. Always take Champix tablets as your doctor has told you, if you are unsure then consult your doctor or pharmacist. Consult your doctor before taking Champix if you have depression, anxiety, bipolar or schizophrenia. If you take more tablets than the recommended dose, you should contact your doctor. If you forget to take your tablets, do NOT double dose.

Orders are sent out via UK Standard Delivery (usually Royal Mail Tracked 2nd Class), but upgraded services to shorten transit time are also available, where we use Express Delivery at £3.99 (usually Royal Mail Tracked 1st Class) or Express Premium Delivery at £6.99 (DPD or Royal Mail Special Delivery).

Next Day postage options are only available Monday to Thursday are unable to guarantee a Saturday delivery. Please note the Premium Express delivery option does not mean your order will be processed any faster.

We regret that we cannot, by law, accept returns of any medication. If you return a medicine to us all we can do is dispose of it correctly for you as it cannot be resold.  This is to ensure the integrity of the UK medicine supply chain.

Of course, if we have made a mistake or if the product is faulty or damaged, we will accept returns as long as you contact us within 10 days of receiving the order and we have received the product back within 30 days.  Please give us a call or contact Travelpharm via the contact us page if you wish to return an item due to an error made by ourselves as we will need to thoroughly investigate why the error occurred.  This is our obligation as a registered UK pharmacy.    

Once we have received the returned item we will refund the amount paid or resend the product.


If for whatever reason you are not satisfied with any other item you have purchased from us, you may return it if you notify us within 10 days of receiving the order and we receive the product back within 30 days. Once we have received the returned item we will refund the amount paid or resend the product.


All returned products must be in their original packaging, unopened and in a re-saleable condition. We only accept returns for products that have been purchased through us.

Any return which does not meet the conditions set above will not be refunded or replaced.
