In the UK opiates like codeine and dihydrocodeine are found not only in prescription medicines but also in over the counter medicines like Nurofen Plus, Solpadeiene and Syndol. This list is not exhaustive.

For this reason, Travelpharm will continue to sell “over the counter”. Travelpharm is a trading name of PCT Healthcare Limited who operate several human pharmacy websites. This policy applies across all the PCT Healthcare Limited trading names which include Peak Pharmacy and TravelPharm. Orders placed at different websites within our company still count to your minimum order interval.
In order to ensure supplies made are appropriate, we have set below the minimum duration of time we expect between orders and the maximum amount that may be ordered. Please note that we will only allow the sale of one of the products listed below as they all contain opiate. This means that there is clear unambiguous guidance to ensure that we retail medicines in a safe and professional manner, minimising the risk of medication misuse.
To minimise the risk of issues we may use software checks to prevent sales of medicines of the same type, to limit the frequency of purchases and to limit the amount purchased. These checks will also include other medicines that have recently been purchased like sedating antihistamine Promethazine.
Travelpharm reserves the right to cancel any order where we suspect medication misuse and would encourage anyone who suspects they may be suffering from an addiction to opiate pain killers to speak with their GP or contact FRANK on 0300 123 6600 for confidential advice.

Over the counter product licences permit a maximum of 3 days of consecutive use. This is to reduce the risk of opiate addiction.
