What is the risk of malaria in Peru?

High Risk: If visiting the Amazon basin area of Peru and along the Brazilian border, particularly the province of Loreto, risk is high and you will require one of the antimalarials, Malarone, Doxcycline or Lariam.

At Risk: If visiting other rural areas below 2000 metres, including the Amazon basin areas that border Bolivia, you will require Avloclor Tablets (Chloroquine)

For all other areas including coastal areas south of Chiclayo and the city of Lima, no risk

What Malaria prophylaxis do I need to prevent malaria in Peru?
